Freedom

Freedom God gives us freedom, freedom to choose to follow him or not follow him.

Many verses talk about how he came to save us, his gift is offered to everyone.  John 3:16

Some verses of freedom to meditate on. Luke 4:18  “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, Acts 24:23

He ordered the centurion to keep Paul under guard but to give him some freedom and permit his friends to take care of his needs. Romans 8:21  that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. 1 Corinthians 7:21  Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you–although if you can gain your freedom, do so. 1 Corinthians 10:29  I am referring to the other person’s conscience, not yours. For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience? 2 Corinthians 3:17  Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Galatians 2:4  This matter arose because some false believers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves. Galatians 5:1  It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:13  You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. Ephesians 3:12  In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence. James 1:25  But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it–not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it–they will be blessed in what they do. James 2:12  Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 1 Peter 2:16  Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves.

2 Peter 2:19

They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity–for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.”
