Today I Voted!

Today I voted for a person who has made mistakes in the past and will most likely make mistakes in the future. That is ok because I have made mistakes in the past and most likely will in the future as well. He is not perfect, but neither am I.

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Romans 3:23 NKJV
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23 NKJV

It’s ok though because I talked to the King about it:

And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Revelation 19:16 NKJV

He told me to pray for whoever is elected, this is what he wants, he told me why as well:

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 NKJV

The King told me he wants me to do this because he wants to use all events to his glory, for those who call on him.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28 NKJV

My King reminded me that things will not always be easy though. He pointed out that one of his greatest followers, one who admitted to being the greatest against him before following him, suffered many things carrying his message to those who needed to hear it.

Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep; in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness— besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.
2 Corinthians 11:25-28 NKJV

I praise my King I have not suffered to this extent, but then weep because I have not reached out to the lost the way Paul did, risking all.

Lord, Bless those who are elected, no mater who they are, that it might go well for us. Lord help me to better reach out to those who need to know you better, or who do not know you at all.
