Acts 2:38

What is the first command Peter gives to the “new” church?

In nearly, if not, all translations it is a command to Repent and be Baptized, why? To receive forgiveness of sins and the gift of the Holy Spirt.

If it was because they had received all of this first then why do the translations not say that? Instead they say do this, then received this will happen! Not you received this so do this!
