How Long?

How long does it take to read through the Bible?

So I have the Steven Johnston NKJV of the Bible on audio (mp3) and the run time is as follows:

Bible NKJV Stephen Johnston

Bible NKJV Stephen Johnston
Old Testament 53:30:29
New Testament 16:56:53
Total Time 70:27:22 (hh:mm:ss)

So it would appear that it could be read in under 70 1/2 hours.

In other words if you spend 2 1/2 hours each night reading you could get through the bible in 30 days.

As an idea to read through the bible in a year how much time would it take? With less than 12 min each day you could read through the bible on one year. I realize some days are tough so lets say 6 days a week for 52 weeks, just 14 min each day would get you through the bible in a year.

So as you consider a bible reading plan for the year consider the cost of spending time with God, can you spare 15 each day to read his word?

If it helps consider an audio version (in your translation) to follow along with as you read. I find this helps with some of the words I am not familiar with, especially the names.

Goal this year, besides any other studies I am working on, is to read through the entire bible. This will not be the first time but I did slack on reading in the last year and spent more time in specific studies. This year I would like to add to that the reading plan that will take me through the entire Bible again. Lookout Magazine (https://lookoutmag.com/) has a reading plan in their magazine that will take you through the bible in one year. The have also promised to publish again their reading plan online. Previous post was the reading plan by week.
