Reaching Forward to God’s Goal
12 Not that I have already reached the goal or am already fully mature, but I make every effort to take hold of it because I also have been taken hold of by Christ Jesus. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do:Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, 14 I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus.
As 2014 draws to a close, we reflect back on the year, the past. Christ Died for us in the past so that we might have a future with him, 2015 gives us new opportunities to look forward and to reflect on what is yet to come. To set goals and to reflect on what we would like to do in the future, how we want to draw closer to Christ, God, and the Holly Spirit.
Lord help us to draw closer to you, walk as you would have us walk, reach those you are drawing to your kingdom.
